I've been helping at my friends' greenhouse this month. Learning LOTS from the guys as well as Suzanne, the other "helper." Suzanne is a Master Gardener and she's convincing me I want to know more about that!

But this greenhouse earns most of it's income from doing fundraisers with school groups. LOTS of baskets, flats, and planters go out of here each year. The first day we did over 100 baskets easy.

They have all kinds of flowers: petunias, wave petunias, periwinkles, begonia, tobacco plant, black-eyed susans, you-name-it! Annuals all over the place! And some of my favorites are the million bells.

Basically it's the time for transplanting everything. From plug trays to flat cubes, and from flat cubes to baskets or planters. And I'm so thankful the weather's been so gorgeous! It can be 70 degrees outside, but inside the greenhouse it can get over 100 at the same time. Needless to say, I've already gotten a start on a great tan!

My Tiger lilly has FINALLY started blooming. I got a new house a few years ago and had to move a lot of flowers around and it's taken this long just to get it to bloom again. I was thrilled!

This little area was just begging for a shady flower garden.
So it finally got one! With hostas, elephant ear, some lillies, impatients, forget-me-nots, periwinkle and ferns - there's room to grow each year. And there's a little turtle hiding - can you see him?

For my first posting, I wanted to show this first bloom of my hosta! I can't remember the name of this hosta, but this is the coolest bloom I've seen!
So - welcome to my gardening blog! This will be all about my enjoyment of seeing God's artwork - and getting to be a part of the process!
More to come...
